Step into the calm and light-filled beauty of a Lappish summer, and discover the everyday life of a real reindeer herding family. Our farm is located deep in the rural countryside of Rovaniemi, right on the banks of the majestic Ounasjoki River – the longest free-flowing river entirely within Finland’s borders. At the edge of our land, the river rushes wild and free through its largest rapid, just beside our home.

Reindeer herding has been part of our family’s life for as long as anyone can remember – stretching back for hundreds of years. Today, four generations of reindeer herders live and work together on our farm, caring for our animals and continuing a traditional way of life that connects people, land, and nature.

Summer in Lapland brings endless daylight, wildflowers, and birdsong through the night. It’s a time of gentleness and growth – a slower season for both humans and animals. You are warmly invited to visit us and experience this peaceful time for yourself.

Visit the Reindeer Farm
Meet our beautiful reindeer in their home grounds, learn about their year-round lives, and hear stories of our work and traditions – directly from us, local herders.

Visit the Reindeer Sleigh School
Our sleigh reindeer continue their training even after the snow melts. They are grazing free but most of them choose to stay close to our home. In this educational and interactive visit, you’ll learn how reindeer are trained using kind, animal-friendly methods. You might even get to try a little training yourself!
